Frequently asked Questions (FAQ)

What is an Open Rim design compaction wheel?    The ACE Open Rim design wheel penetrates through the lift of trench fill and compacts the soil from the bottom up rather than the top down.

How do you make sure the compaction is complete?  The equipment operator can “feel of the wheel” in the ditch through the hydraulic controls of the machine.  ACE compaction wheel operators can quickly gain a feel and can tell when they reach the required compaction .

How many passes do I need to make?  Six to ten passes should be sufficient to achieve 95% and greater standard density in normal soil conditions.

Does the the Diamond Compaction Wheel require special hydraulics?  No special hydraulics or systems for power are required.

What can expect for productivity?  Compaction wheels can increase compaction productivity by 75% or more over vibratory compactors.

What else can I expect from my ACE Diamond Compaction Wheel?  Each Diamond Compaction Wheel has been engineered and designed to:

  • whithstand the impact and thrust load demanded by the piece of equipment to which it is attached.
  • increase and promote job safety with the elimination of men working in the trench.
  • add versatility to existing equipment already on the job, while reducing the need for high maintenance conventional compaction equipment.

Can I depend on ACE?  ACE has provided Diamond Compaction Wheels, service and technical assistance since 1987 and continues to offer the same today and for the future.  We are your trusted compaction partners.
